6 last-minute Halloween costumes

You haven’t had time to look for the perfect costume for Halloween (or Carnival…)? Or you decided too late to attend a Halloween party? No worries! I’ve put some costumes together that are easy to find in your own closet!

You know what the best thing is about these costumes coming from your own closet?  It is that you can change it into an entirely different daily outfit by just changing a few things! I will show you the outfits I made out of the costumes, maybe you find something you like.

Georgie (IT)

georgyFor my first costume I put the outfit of Georgie from the movie ‘IT’ together. You know the little boy that lost his paper boat and in search of it he met Pennywise the Dancing Clown? This is so easy to put together!

What you will need to find:

  • A yellow raincoat;
  • Boots;
  • Extra: paper boat, a clown doll as attribute, …
From Georgie to ‘On A Rainy Summer’s Day’ outfit

Rainy DayIt’s summer but it’s raining outside? Just put on that yellow raincoat and some pretty boots!

FarmgirlThis is easy! Who doesn’t have shorts and a blouse with a chequered pattern? Just add the boots and it’s already a farmgirl outfit!

I added some funny blue stockings with blue suspenders, a red bandana and just for the fun of it a pig nose. If you find anything in your closet you think can complete the outfit, then try it on!

What you will need to find:

  • A blouse with a chequered pattern;
  • Any kind of shorts;
  • Boots;
  • Extra: bandana, straw hat, ponytail, rake, pig nose 😉 …
From a farmgirl to casual streetwear

Streetwear BlackRemove the pig nose, red bandana, boots, blue stockings, and suspenders. Add a long black coat, a hat, and some over-the-knee boots and this is the outfit you’ll become!

I personally like the outfit better with a denim jacket, so if you own one, try it on!Streetwear DenimBuy the outfit:

Nerd Alert

NerdI am almost certain you will find clothes that can make you look like a ‘geek’.

What you will need to find:

  • Any baggy T-shirt;
  • Any baggy trousers;
  • Glasses;
  • A belt;
  • A backpack;
  • Extra: books, ponytails, pimples, braces, …
  • (Tip: add the ponytails/braids/…, because it really makes the outfit look different!).
From a nerd to a relaxed outfit

Concert-goerWell this is definitely the opposite of a nerd!

DetectiveFor some this can be a hard find. The whole outfit is about the coat. If you don’t have the coat, this costume is probably not for you. But if you do own it, I think this is a pretty cool outfit!

It’s a daily outfit which you can use as a costume, shhhhht don’t tell anyone!

What you will need to find:

  • Black hat;
  • This coat;
  • Extra: gun, badge, binoculars, some files, …
From a detective to ‘A Night Out’ outfit

VampireThis was a fun one to put together. I experimented by putting on a ‘peplum top’ above my long black dress. It worked (obviously)!

You can definitely dress like a vampire in many different ways. But I liked the look of a very long dress.

What you will need to find:

  • Long dress (black/red/…);
  • Red lipstick (and make it bleed!);
  • Extra: messy hair, black eyeshadow, a peplum top, dagger, chokers, …
From a vampire to office wear

Office BlackOffice RedAdd a faux leather jacket to make it look a little bit more ‘classy’.

Or a denim jacket if you don’t want to feel ‘overdressed’ and to make it more ‘cool looking’.Office DenimBuy the outfit:

Wednesday from the Addams family (kinda)

WednesdayWe all know Wednesday from the Addams family, right? I tried to match her outfit, but I couldn’t find a white blouse. But this black blouse will do.

Every girl has a ‘little black dress’ in their closet, it’s essential!

If you made a butterfly clock key winder out of cardboard and you were to tape it to your back on this outfit, you could also dress up like a windup doll (the outfit can look very different by just changing one simple thing!).

What you will need to find:

  • Little black dress;
  • Blouse (preferred white);
  • Black stockings or over the knee socks;
  • Braids;
  • Extra: add a butterfly clock key winder to be a windup doll!
From Wednesday to grunge

Cool GirlI’ve never worn this outfit before, but now that I put it together I will definitely wear this! I’m in love with it, even though it’s all black, it’s cool. I would add some red lipstick to top it all off!

  2. Granted, I kinda missed the shot on these now that it’s November haha, I just wanted to pop in and say that I actually love your site’ name- as a truly clumsy, shy, awkward individual myself lol! Also, I love the way you set up your incorporation of images- very homey and personal!

      1. I’m not sure I’m equipped to give advice, having only started my blog a little over a week ago haha! But I definitely say “You do you”, write about what you love, and make this your own 🙂
